Pahalgam is a beautiful hill station and literally means “Village of Shepherds,” located in the Anantnag region of Jammu and Kashmir. It’s easily approachable by a 5 km uphill pony ride from Pahalgam town. The meadow is enclosed by a thick forest of pine and deodar trees.

It is a lesser-known film than Aru or Betaab and provides a more serene experience. Avantipur Temple – The Avantipur Temple is on the highway between Srinagar and Pahalgam, near the village of Avantipur, is an important stop for enthusiasts in history and architecture. These are the ruins of two great temples, one dedicated to Lord Vishnu, known as the Avantiswami Temple and other to Lord Shiva called the Avanteshwara Temple.
Mamaleshwar Temple – The Mamaleshwar Temple is a small, ancient Shiva temple located in Pahalgam, along the Lidder River. It is believed to be one of the oldest temples in Kashmir, dating back possibly to the 7th century. The temple is unique since it encompasses a natural spring that is covered by a square stone pedestal.
