Tall chinar-laden mountains, expansive green valleys, colourful attires of locals, lush gardens of flowers and fountains, every turn of the road makes it a Heaven on Earth.
When me and my friends were planning a holiday after completing the final exams for the master's, we started looking for a place that met our travel expectations. Then & there, we finalized our place of vacation and that is Kashmir. Because of its breathtaking landscapes, serene lakes and snowy mountain peaks, we choose Kashmir for our stress-bursting holiday destination. Our 5 days Kashmir Tour Package was supposed to give an unforgettable experience. Likewise, we planned the trip for the first time, we know how complicated it gets to make proper arrangements on a budget. So, we have compiled all the information for 5 days tour itinerary that made it all so special.
Day 1: Srinagar Arrival
We landed at Srinagar airport where our assigned tour representative met and greeted us. He further escorted us to the houseboat on Dal Lake we booked. The crisp mountain air along with the mesmerizing views of the distant snowcapped peaks left us spellbound. We were ready to sail and experience the royalty our shikara ride has to offer.
Experience the surreal beauty of the Himalayas providing the perfect backdrop for clicking Instagram photos and shooting travel reels. In the evening, take a stroll through the Mughal Gardens with Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh. The gardens have Persian-style architecture and cascading fountains, which will make you feel like stepping into a Mughal-era painting.
Day 2: Exploring Gulmarg
The next morning, set off early for Gulmarg located around 50 kms from Srinagar. Well-known as the “Meadow of Flowers,” Gulmarg gets enlightened with lush green meadows adorned with wildflowers. Gulmarg Gondola is one of the highest cable cars in the world. The gondola ride took around Kongdoori and proceeded to Apharwat Peak, offering stunning snow-clad Pir Panjal range views. Gulmarg Golf Course is one of the highest golf courses presenting scenic Beauty and a serene atmosphere.
Day 3: Pahalgam Excursion
The next day, you will be taken to Srinagar to experience the picturesque villages, apple orchards and the gushing Lidder River. On reaching Pahalgam, head straight to Betaab Valley to witness the lush greenery, clear blue streams and surrounding mountains. The walking paths and pony rides can be enjoyed at Aru Valley. Visiting Baisara would be a perfect decision to witness the picturesque Himalayan views and green meadows.
Day 4: Sonmarg Excursion
Travel through towering mountains, alpine forests and glistening streams on the route to Sonmarg. The destination offers a sight to behold with a pristine white snow stretch. Touring the Zojila Pass, one of the highest passes in the region left us all in awe. Take a stop by the Baltal Valley usually considered as a base camp for the Amarnath Yatra.
Day 5: Departure
On the last day explore Srinagar’s hidden gems and remaining sightseeing points. You may visit Jamia Masjid, a stunning mosque famous for its wooden architecture and peaceful ambience. The market was a treasure trove of Kashmiri handicrafts and shops for some pashmina shawls and handmade carpets. Take a stop by the Hazratbal Shrine offering tranquil surroundings making it a serene experience. Enjoy a traditional Wazwan meal at a local restaurant. Later depart back to the hometown destination and create lasting memories while traveling.
