Itinerary details:
Day 1: Delhi – Shimla (Overnight Travel)
Kickstart your trip with an overnight Volvo bus from Delhi to Shimla. Gear up for a remarkable holiday in Spiti Valley.
Day 2: Shimla – Kufri – Kalpa
The romantic road trip starts from ISBT Shimla in a comfortable Tempo Traveller. The picturesque village of Kalpa, the site of mighty Kinner Kailash Range, will be our starting point, through beautiful places like Narkanda, Rampur, Fagu, Theog and Kufri.
Kalpa is one of the largest and most beautiful villages in the Kinnaur district. It is renowned for its production of Chilgoza or Pinus gerardiana and apples of fine quality. Kalpa offers a scenic view early in the morning when the sun rises and strikes the snowy mountain peaks, filling the sky with pink and golden colours.

Day 3: Kalpa – Nako – Tabo
Today, we will start our day by exploring Kalpa and Reckong Peo. Here, we will enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Kinnaur-Kailash mountains, visit monasteries and temples, and experience the local lifestyle. We will cross the dangerous Malling stream and proceed for Nako. We will explore the frozen Nako Lake, which is also used as an ice-skating rink by the locals, in Nako, the quaintest town in Kinnaur! Cross the checkpoint at Sumdo and enter the vast Spiti Valley after Nako. Tabo is the place from which we begin our journey to Spiti.
Day 4: Tabo – Dhankar – Kaza
Today, we will visit the world’s oldest monastery, Tabo, also the Dalai Lama’s favourite. We will take a car from Tabo to Dhankar Monastery. Before Kaza, Spiti’s administrative capital was Dhankar. We will explore the settlement and pay a visit to the Dhankar Gompa, asymmetrically perched on a precipitous cliff. The fort on a mountaintop with a view of the Spiti Valley was formally a jail. Following a few memorable hours in the serene monastery, we proceed to Kaza, the Spiti District’s administrative center.
Day 5: Kaza Sightseeing
It’s a time to go to some of the most populated regions of the globe. We go on to Langza at an elevation of 4400 meters above sea level. After reaching Langza, we can have a walkabout, travel to the 1000-year-old temple named Lang, and look for sea fossils in the sedimentary rocks. At an altitude of 4587 meters above sea level, Komic is the world’s highest motorable village and our next destination. The biggest Gelugpa Sect Monastery in Spiti and famous for its magnificent Key monastery, located at the foot of rugged slopes.
From every spot in this upland country, the sight of the valley with the Spiti River below is simply breathtaking. Spending a while in this monastery’s peacefulness may be an experience of a lifetime that leaves one’s mark forever. We will go from Kibber to the famous Chicham Bridge, Asia’s highest bridge! After all your roaming in Kaza today, relax in the homestay.
Day 6: Kaza – Sangla / Kalpa
Today, we will begin our homeward journey from Kaza and return to Kalpa or Sangla to seek Lord Shiva’s blessings at Kinner Kailash Peak.
Day 7: Kalpa / Sangla – Shimla
With a heart full of happy memories, we finally returned to Shimla after our tour.
Day 8: Delhi Departure
By reaching Delhi early in the morning. The trip ends with good memories.
