Itinerary details:

Day 1: Chandigarh to Shangarh

In a comfortable Tempo Traveller, your wonderful road trip shall begin from ISBT Chandigarh. Enjoy the picturesque views through the Himachal Pradesh rural roads during the journey to Shangarh. The scenic Himalayan town of Shangarh falls in the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Great Himalayan National Park. Have a filling dinner and afterwards relax in a homestay for the night, looking forward to the next day.

Day 2: Shangarh Sightseeing and Raila Twin Towers

Today we hike through Shangarh’s beautiful, wide green pastures after an enjoyable morning. Observe the Shangchul Mahadev Temple, famous for its carvings and pagoda-like structure. We’ll explore Raila hamlet in the evening to observe the remarkable Twin Towers or Kothi of Raila. Finally return to our Shangarh homestay after an exhausting day of traveling.

Day 3: Shangarh – Pundrik Rishi Lake – Jibhi

Then we’ll move from Shangarh to Deohari village to discover Pundrik Rishi Lake. Pundrik Rishi Lake is a sacred lake in the Great Himalayan National Park, deep inside the Sainj Valley. The trek from Deohari village is an hour’s walk away. You will be enticed by this enchanting lake! After some refreshing time at this peaceful lake, we head to Jibhi, the major tourist spot in the Tirthan Valley. Jibhi is a beautiful place near the Tirthan River, famous for having many waterfalls and freshwater trout, and people even come here to fish! Discover the local market in the evening and after dinner, we hit our comfortable beds after exploration.

Day 4: Jibhi – Jalori Pass – Serolsar Lake – Jibhi

It’s time to explore some of the most populated places in Tirthan Valley. Through Shoja Village, we’ll head to 3134 m Jalori Pass. It is one of the prettiest locations to witness snow-capped mountains on all sides with a temple dedicated to Budhi Nagin located on top of the pass. The path to the stunning Serolsar Lake begins at Jalori Pass. Serolsar Lake is barely 6 kms away from Jalori Pass. The trek will take only 2 to 3 hours to complete, making it very simple.

Head back to Jibhi after admiring the beauty of the lake. Explore the Jibhi waterfall during the evening. The waterfall is famous for its arduous climb with slippery rocks, but what you are presented with afterwards makes it more than worth the climb! This is arguably one of India’s most beautiful waterfalls, featuring pools of shiny blue water created by the unpolluted glacier water cascading down the rocks.

Return to the hotel for a relaxing night stay.

Day 5: Jibhi – Bahu – Gadagushain

Following breakfast today, we proceed to the interior of the Tirthan Valley towards the east. The first place we’ll be exploring is Bahu Village. The village is beautiful and picturesque, trek 2 km from the Bahu Pond to the Balu Nag Temple. The stunning trek results in the magnificent Balu Nag Temple is under a canopy of deodar trees and perched atop a mountain.

Evergreen cedar temples surround the peaceful Balu Temple from all sides. Many locals visit this temple daily because it is revered. Then, proceed to Gadagushain, the last village in the Tirthan valley. This hidden paradise is located where the river divides the Kullu and Mandi districts. Overnight at the homestay.

Day 6: Gadagushain – Chandigarh

Finally, it is time to say goodbye to the captivating and enchanted scenery of Tirthan Valley. We go to Gadagushain’s secret waterfalls after breakfast. Get settled and make way back to Chandigarh at around midday. Return to Chandigarh with joyful memories.
