Day 1: Shimla Arrival

Upon your arrival in Shimla, an aide will meet you and escort you to the hotel of your choice, Wildflower Hall or The Oberoi Cecil. Each stay offers excellent amenities and unmatched services. Therefore, each offers legendary properties in its own right. Wildflower Hall is a former residence of Lord Kitchener, offering a remote, peaceful mountain getaway with magnificent views and expansive hills. Whilst the Oberoi Cecil has designated heritage status, it oozes colonial charm. After a smooth check-in, you will have the rest of the day to relax, get settled and enjoy the scenic beauty around you at your lavish property. Have a lovely meal in the hotel's fine-dining restaurants to kick off your journey ahead.

Day 2: Luxury Shimla Sightseeing Tour

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you will take a private luxury car rental to visit Shimla. Witness some of the most recognized sites and get insight into the area’s historical and cultural backdrop.

The first stop will be the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, a majestic Victorian structure, formerly known as the Viceregal Lodge. The building represents the colonial architecture, which must have been fanciful to use as the Indian Viceroy’s summer palace. The next trip will be to the Jakhu Temple, a sacred shrine dedicated to the monkey god, Lord Hanuman, located on Jakhu Hill, the highest point in Shimla. The temple is of stunning architecture and provides expansive views of the surrounding mountains and the entire town.

The excursion will also include a trip to the State Museum, which displays many antique artifacts, paintings and sculptures that represent Himachal Pradesh’s cultural wealth. Post that, head to the bustling Mall Road, located at the heart of Shimla. It is an ultimate place for a stroll, shop locally crafted handicrafts and souvenirs, or just to enjoy the fantastic atmosphere. Return to the hotel at the conclusion of the excursion, and you can relax and have another delicious meal.

Day 3: Shimla Heritage Walk & Toy Train Ride

The day will let you experience Shimla’s most iconic activities, so get ready after breakfast. Travellers will be taken to the famous Shimla railway station for boarding the Kalka-Shimla Toy Train, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The narrow-gauge railway ride offers amazing views of the Himalayan foothills, and a wonderful experience since it winds through quaint villages, dense pine trees and many bridges and tunnels.

After taking the train trip, you are going on a carefully planned Shimla Heritage Walk. See and experience Shimla’s colonial past and architectural gems as you stroll through its winding, narrow streets and lanes with a knowledgeable guide. You will pass some amazing sites, including the Christ Church, one of the oldest churches in North India, the famous Gaiety Theatre, an awe-inspiring structure in Gothic style and the historic Town Hall. The guide will provide interesting stories and details regarding the history of the town and these buildings. The walk provides a historical connection to Shimla and a fuller understanding of its unique character. You return to the hotel for a last sumptuous evening, as the day draws to a close.
