Overview
Chardham Yatra Package with Valley of Flowers is a specialized tour plan covering the four sacred dhams of Uttarakhand. These include a visit to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath with a visit to the mesmerizing Valley of Flowers National Park. Typically, this tour takes 14 to 16 days, but our journey will be of 11 nights and 12 days, following the standard pilgrimage route but integrating a detour to Govindghat/Joshimath. This tour offers a perfect blend of profound spiritual devotion and unmatched Himalayan natural beauty.
Day 1: Haridwar/Dehradun/Rishikesh to Barkot Transfer
Begin your journey from Haridwar/Dehradun/Rishikesh to Barkot via Mussoorie. On the way, visit Kempty Falls. As you arrive, check into the hotel and rest of the day is at leisure. Acclimatize your mind, body and soul to start a trek to Yamunotri from Janki Chatti.
Day 2: Yamunotri day trip
Early morning after breakfast, visit Janki Chatti via Hanuman Chatti & Fool Chatti. As you arrive, trek to Yamunotri, then pooja and darshan of Shree Yamunotri Ji, after darshan and pooja. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Hanuman Chatti is the confluence of Hanuman Ganga & Yamuna River.
Divya Shila is a rock pillar, worshipped before entering the Yamunotri Temple.
Yamunotri Temple was built in the 19th century, destroyed twice in the present century and rebuilt again.
Surya Kund are several thermal springs in the vicinity of the temple, which flows into several pools.
Day 3: Uttarkashi Transfer
Today, take a drive to Uttarkashi after a healthy breakfast. Explore Vishwanath Temple and other holy shrines.
Uttarkashi is a small and beautiful town, located between two rivers: Varuna and Ashi, flowing into the Bhagirathi from either side of the town. Elevated at a height of 1588 meters, this little town is like Kashi and Varanasi, the same kind of temples and ghats. The major temple is the Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Day 4: Gangotri day trip via Harsil
With a packed breakfast & tea/coffee, leave for Gangotri early in the morning. Offer prayers & pooja darshan, later drive back to Uttarkashi, en route visit Gangnani.
Gangotri temple is an 18th-century temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga. Located near a sacred stone where King Bhagirath worshipped Lord Shiva is believed to have touched at this spot. The temple is an exquisite 20 ft. high structure made of white granite. Perform snan at Gangotri Ghat, Ganga Pujan & Aarti at Gangotri Ghat, Darshan of Bhagirath Shila, Gauri Ganesha Temple Darshan, etc.
Day 5: Sitapur Transfer
In the morning, leave early for an almost day-long drive to Rudraprayag. During your drive, you would pass through the Ganga River, offering a way to Tehri Dam. Stay relaxed in the hotel at Rudraprayag.
Day 6: Kedarnath Day trip via Gaurikund
On the 6-day morning, take a drive to Gaurikund. On arrival, start your journey on the tough trek ahead. On arrival at Kedarnath, freshen up, perform pooja and darshan at Kedarnath ji mandir. Attending evening aarti is a lifetime experience in the land of Kedar Baba. Stay at Kedarnathji in the government. approved camps or huts on your own. It is a free arrangement by the government and will be booked directly by the travellers on the spot as per availability.
Lying at an altitude of 3584 mts. On the head of the river Mandakini, the shrine of Kedarnath is amongst the holiest pilgrimages for Hindus. Kedarnath is a majestic sight, standing in the middle of a wide plateau surrounded by lofty snow-capped peaks. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the exquisitely architectured Kedarnath Temple is believed to be more than 1000 years old. Built of extremely heavy, large and evenly cut grey slabs of stone, it evokes wonder as to how these slabs were handled in the earlier days. Stay overnight in Kedarnath.
Day 7: Rudraprayag/Sitapur Transfer
This day is a leisure day for travellers. If you are taking helicopter services, then it would be quick and easy to reach Sitapur early. Otherwise, trek down to Gaurikund and then drive back to Rudraprayag. The remaining day is at leisure for relaxing.
Day 8: Badrinath Transfer via Ukhimath, Chopta, and Joshimath
This morning, after breakfast, the tour will proceed to Badrinath Mandir via Chopta.
As you reach Badrinath Mandir, witness the twin Mountain ranges of Nar and Narayan cradling the temple along with the Alaknanda River. Once the spot was carpeted with badris or wild berries and hence was famous as Badri Van. According to the legends, the Ganga was requested to descend to earth to help suffering humanity; the earth was enabled to withstand the force of its descent. Have darshan of Badri Vishal if time allows, or else visit Nag Nagin Pith, one of the important places in India for Sarp Kal Dosh Nivaran.
Day 9: Ghangharia Transfer via Govindghat
Have breakfast and leave for a transfer to Ghangharia via Govindghat. Get transferred to Pulna village, the starting point for your walk to Ghangharia. Arrive and start a 10 km trek down to a white-water river called Laxman Ganga. It takes around 7 hrs. of trekking to reach Ghangharia at an altitude of 10,000 feet. Stay relaxed overnight at Ghangharia.
Day 10: Valley of Flowers Transfer
After a wholesome breakfast, proceed for a trek to the Valley of Flowers, also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Reach the checkpoint to get an access pass to enter the valley. Once you get the pass, cross the historic bridge over the Pushpawati River and begin a hike to witness the mesmerizing beauty of the valley. The valley is full of natural vegetation and fauna. After 2 kms of trekking, you will reach the U-shaped valley, and a further 1 km walk will take you to a self-sustaining, unique world of flowers with more than 500 species. After a couple of hours of exploring the valley, head back to Ghangharia by 4 pm. Stay overnight in Ghangharia.
Day 11: Rudraprayag Transfer via Govindghat (10 kms trek & 130 kms by road)
This morning, get ready after breakfast, check out from the hotel & trek down to Govindghat. On reaching Pulna, take a break for some time. Continue to reach Rudraprayag for a relaxing overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 12: Haridwar transfer via Devprayag and Rishikesh
Post a healthy breakfast, check out from the hotel and leave for a journey to Haridwar. On the way, take a halt at Rishikesh and explore some of its sightseeing points. These include –
Triveni Ghat – A confluence of three holy rivers, i.e., Yamuna, Ganga, and Saraswati, the most revered sacred bathing places in Rishikesh. It is believed that taking a holy bath in the water at this ghat washes away all sins and purifies the soul, resulting in salvation. Every morning and evening, thousands of people flock here to take a bath and attend the Maha Aarti Ceremony. It feels relaxing to sit on the riverbank and enjoy the fresh breeze from the riverside.
Trayambakeshwar Temple – Located on the eastern side of the Ganges, opposite the Lakshman Jhula Bridge, is a 13-story high temple featuring several holy deities.
Lakshman Jhula – Ram Jhula is an iron suspension bridge in Rishikesh, measuring 450 ft. in length. This is a major landmark of Rishikesh and was built over the Ganges to cross the river and it came into existence as an attraction in the city.
Later return to Haridwar and depart for your homebound journey.
