A challenging yet rewarding Himalayan trek, the Buran Ghati Trek is a stunning journey through the range of landscapes from glacial lakes to high-altitude passes and verdant valleys. At 4550 meters, this 7 days 6 nights journey bridges the Pabbar and Baspa valleys by traversing the stunning Buran Ghati.

Tour Itinerary

The tour begins with a trip from Shimla to Janglik Village. Enjoy the Himalayan scenery along scenic mountain roads as you drive. Begin the remote town of Janglik, the tour commences. Transportation is the main reason for this day, serving to bring hikers to the trailhead.

Begin at Janglik, the trek goes up through alpine pastures and dense forests. The path offers great views of the valleys around it as it continues to rise in elevation. Daraya Thach is the overnight campground, a beautiful meadow. Trekkers can acclimatize to the elevation on this day since it is an easy trek.

From Daraya Thach, the trek goes on through more challenging terrain to Litham. There are boulders and steep slopes along the route. Located amidst the beautiful mountain ranges, with breathtaking scenery, Litham is a scenic campsite. The complexity of the terrain and altitude gain both increase on this day.

The day trek to the grand glacial lake Chandernahan Lake is organized for the day. The nice scenery of the lake and surrounding area can be witnessed along the way through the challenging walk to the lake. The summit of the trek is Chandernahan Lake is famous for its peaceful ambience and shimmering waters. The next day will involve a return to Litham.

The Buran Ghati Pass must be crossed on this, the most challenging day of the trek. The trekkers must navigate rocky terrain and glacier patches on the steep climb to the pass. It offers breathtaking views of the hills and valleys surrounding it. Rough land and steep slopes make the descent from the pass to Nalabansh just as challenging. The physical and mental endurance of the trekkers will be challenging on this day.

The trek goes on along the Baspa Valley from Nalabansh to Munirang. The hike goes along riverbanks and meadows. Munrang is a beautiful campsite offering an insight into the unique Baspa Valley life. The trekking will not be as demanding as yesterday.

The trek's last day entails a descent to the Baspa Valley’s Barua hamlet. The hike provides stunning scenery of the valley as it traverses along the river. Trekkers are driven back to Shimla by car from Barua. The trekking phase ends on this day and the journey back home starts.
