Devotees may check into a hotel upon arrival. Embark on a mandatory visit to the sacred Ganga aarti ceremony at Har ki Pauri sets the evening. The ceremony where lamps are given to the river, signifying the spiritual commencement of the Yatra and sets a spiritual tone for the subsequent days. The day serves both as a long-distance transfer and a cultural, spiritual introduction to the pilgrimage.

Day 2: Guptkashi Transfer

A long and scenic drive of 8 to 10 hours from Haridwar/Rishikesh to Guptkashi. The scenic drive goes through various cities like Devprayag and along the winding roads along major rivers like the Ganga and Alaknanda. On the way take a visit to Kedarnath, Guptkashi also referred to as the Hidden Kashi, a religious and historical town. Due to its better facilities and slightly lower elevation compared to other places like Gaurikund, commonly the base for the overnight stay. As you arrive at Kedarnath trek staging location, ensuring to take the required acclimatization break before moving on to higher heights.

Day 3: Kedarnath Day Tour

Today is the most significant and physically demanding day. The morning drive from Guptkashi to Gaurikund. Devotees begin a trek to Kedarnath from Gaurikund. Taking a pony or palki or booking a helicopter service from nearby locations like Phata or Sersi are other options from the trek. As you reach the Kedarnath Temple, devotees see and pray to the holy Jyotirlinga or Darshan. There may be an Aarti that night. Accommodation for a day tour will typically involves a short overnight stay in a government or private lodge near the temple or an overnight return journey to Gaurikund.

Day 4: Badrinath Transfer

Badrinath is a long trip from Kedarnath area. The tour involved traveling through the important spiritual town of Joshimath before going down the Kedarnath valley and climbing the Badrinath valley. Joshimath is one of the Adi Shankaracharya’ four cardinal monasteries. Rudraprayag is one of the five sacred river confluence of the Alaknanda river. The Mandakini River and Alaknanda River meets here. The town gets its name from Lord Shiva and the meeting point is considered extremely holy. Located strategically on the main road, the stopover point divides the long return journey and provides the opportunity to view another sacred meeting point.

Day 6: Haridwar Transfer

Enjoy a long drive from Rudraprayag to Haridwar. As the elevation drops gradually, the tour offers final glimpses of the Himalayan landscape and rivers. The tour is mostly downhill, it is easy. Devotees have time upon reaching Haridwar to do some last-minute shopping, worship the temples nearby like Mansa Devi or Chandi Devi. The party closer to Delhi, the mountain part of the tour.

Day 7: Delhi Departure

The final 6 to 7 hours road trip from Haridwar to Delhi. The arrival at Delhi signifies the formal conclusion of the Yatra.
