Kedarnath Helicopter Tour 6 Days

Overview

The traditional Char Dham Yatra takes up to 12 days and includes quite a bit of trekking, at least 16 to 18 km for Kedarnath and 6 km for Yamunotri. On the 6 days Helicopter tour, all this arduous travel is replaced by short, breathtaking helicopter rides between main attractions. The package is suitable for:

Senior persons or people with mobility issues, with physical strain and high-altitude walking.

Time-constrained visitors can complete the entire spiritual cycle in less than a week.

Travellers in luxury consider comfort, quality accommodations and unique facilities.

The Kedarnath Helicopter Tour for 6 Days typically encompasses all four Dhams by making Dehradun the major centre and placing overnight stays at beautiful, comfortable locales near the key pilgrimage sites.

Day 1: Arrival at Dehradun

The pilgrimage officially starts when the devotees arrive in the capital city of Uttarakhand, Dehradun. Guests usually arrive at Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun. As you arrive, travellers are warmly welcomed by our representative and driven to a high-end, pre-booked hotel or resort, be it in the spiritual city of Rishikesh nearby or in Dehradun itself.

The evening is planned for a mandatory and comprehensive tour briefing. The tour goes over the schedule for the next five days, safety regulations for flying by helicopter in the highlands, luggage limitations, and the high-altitude atmosphere.

Stay overnight in Dehradun.

Day 2: Kharsali Transfer

The next day marks the commencement of the flying trek, with a focus on the first dham, Yamunotri. Early in the morning, guests are transferred from the hotel to Sahastradhara Helipad in Dehradun. First Helicopter sortie brings the pilgrims to Kharsali, the nearest helipad and the base for Yamunotri. The flight is pictorial as it offers a panoramic view of the Uttarakhand hills. On arrival at Kharsali, a transfer is offered by Palki or Pony service for 6 km to the Yamuntori Dham Mandir, included in the premium package. As compared to the Kedarnath trek, this walk is very easy. The devotees take a holy dip in the Yamuna River and then worship Goddess Yamuna. The group returns to the Kharsali Helipad area. Accommodation will be offered in a comfortable hotel or resort in Kharsali/Barkot. It offers critical high-altitude acclimatization before proceeding further.

Day 3: Harsil Transfer

The day covers the second Dham, Gangotri, often referred to as the most beautiful place. The helicopter flies from Kharsali to Harsil. It is a beautiful, calm valley town on the banks of the Bhagirathi River. It is the nearest helipad and base to Gangotri. The group is escorted by road from Harsil to the Gangotri Dham Mandir, a reasonably short and scenic drive away. The pilgrims take a holy dip in the holy Bhagirathi River, commonly known as Ganga, before praying at the Goddess Ganga shrine. Harsil is a place with endless natural beauty of apple orchards and the small village of Mukhba. The package often covers time for local sightseeing. A stay is usually arranged in a high-end resort in Harsil, famous for its pristine beauty and tranquillity.

Day 4: Phata Transfer & Kedarnath Darshan

The tour highlights exploring Kedarnath, one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The helicopter proceeds from Harsil to a base helipad in the Kedarnath valley, like Phata, Sersi, or Guptkashi. This is the primary logistics hub for Kedarnath activities. On arrival, the group is taken to another helicopter-often a government-mandated shuttle service, for the short ride to the Kedarnath helipad. We arrange for preferential darshan, either VVIP or Special Puja, to minimise the wait at the main temple, which otherwise takes several hours. Guests are allowed 1.5 to 2 hrs. on the temple premises for prayers and rituals. After the holy Darshan, the group goes back to the base helipad at Phata/Guptkashi and is taken to their pre-booked luxury accommodation. Return to the base helipad at Phata/Guptkashi and are escorted to their pre-booked luxury accommodations.

Day 5: Badrinath Transfer

The day explores the final and most revered Dham, Badrinath – the abode of Lord Vishnu. The final inter-Dham helicopter takes you from the base of the Kedarnath valley to the Badrinath Helipad. The flight often offers breathtaking scenes of the Himalayas, particularly Neelkanth Peak. After arrival, the travellers are taken to the Badrinath Dham Temple. The devotees take a holy Tapt Kund before visiting the shrine. Arrangements for priority darshan are also available to facilitate a smooth visit to the main shrine of Lord Badrinarayan. It typically includes a short tour to nearby Mana Town, before the Tibetan border, to explore some places of interest like Vyas Gufa. Guests are further assisted towards a luxury hotel in Dehradun/Rishikesh. A gala dinner and farewell ceremony are often arranged to mark the successful completion of the Char Dham Yatra.

Day 6: Dehradun Transfer & Departure

The last day of the tour is spent wrapping up and transferring tourists to their next destination. Travellers at Dehradun hotel enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Depending on the flight itinerary, you may have some time available for doing some last-minute souvenir shopping. This 6 days Kedarnath Helicopter Tour comes to an end with pilgrims having a deeply spiritual sense of accomplishment and memories of a quick-moving, enjoyable and lavish trek across the holy Himalayas.
